My practice and classes have evolved from a power/vinyasa flow into a slow, somatic based flow throughout my 20 years of teaching. I have a strong passion for anatomy, and a belief that the more the student knows about their own body, the more insight we have to heal ourselves. I love chanting and learning Sanskrit, so my classes often incorporate mantras as well.
I currently teach one group class from my home studio in Fayetteville WV the focus on mindfulness and somatic movement. Each class incorporates mindfulness and breath practices and somatic movement flows that lead into what we may think of as a more traditional yoga flow. My classes always prepare the body and practitioner through somatic movement first, which prepares the soma for the more strengthening and demanding poses that may follow. I love to incorporate chanting and anatomy into my classes.
